We’re most active on Facebook – search “Magnolia Trails Leaders” to get updates, ask questions, and learn from other leaders.

Attend a meeting

We typically meet on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm at Pepper Drive School. All are welcome to attend — no RSVP needed.

Service Unit 101

What is a service unit?

A service unit is a group of volunteers and Girl Scouts who work together in a specific geographic area to support Girl Scouts. Magnolia Trails serves Santee and a few troops in nearby areas.

What does a service unit do?

Provide support

Service units offer training, mentorship, and membership support to Girl Scouts. They also share resources and ideas, and provide guidance to troop leaders.

Organize events

Service units plan events like local service projects, day camps, celebrations, and ceremonies.

Share information

Service units share information about the Girl Scouts, such as new training requirements, promotions, and the Cookie Program.

Connect with the Girl Scout world

Service units connect volunteers to the larger Girl Scout world.

Who runs the service unit?

We’re volunteers! We are a group of current and former troop leaders, some with decades of experience and some with just a few years.
